Using Chronicling America Podcast Series
About
In collaboration with the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Library of Congress, National Digital Newspaper Program in Ohio staff at the Ohio Historical Society developed a series of video podcasts to teach you how to access the rich content available on Chronicling America. The 11-episode series is available through the Ohio Historical Society’s YouTube Channel.
Episodes
Podcasts 2-9 will provide the basics for using the website. For more advanced search tips, check out Podcast 10 (Overcoming Historical Language Barriers & Learning Alternatives to Controlled Vocabulary) and Podcast 11 (Understanding Keyword Searching). These will help you understand why the results you want do not always show up the way you expect.
