Staff of the Ohio Memory Project

Angela O’Neal is Director of Collections Services.  She studied U.S. history at Miami University and Kent State University and has worked on a variety of digital conversion projects including Ohio Memory and OhioPix. O’Neal managed the Preservation and Access Services Department at the Ohio Historical Society and served as the Director for Information Technology before becoming the Director for Collections Services. She previously served as president of the Society of Ohio Archivists.

Jason Crabill is Manager of Curatorial Services in the Collections Division at the Ohio Historical Society. Jason’s responsibilities include overseeing the Digital Services unit, highlighted by Ohio Memory, a collaborative digital library that includes 353 libraries, historical societies and museums in Ohio and the National Digital Newspaper Program in Ohio, Ohio’s contribution to Chronicling America. Jason has a BA in Anthropology from Ohio University and an MLIS from Kent State University.

Jillian Carney is the Manager of Digital Services in the Collections Division at the Ohio Historical Society, and her responsibilities include overseeing the Digital Services unit, highlighted by Ohio Memory, a collaborative digital library that includes 353 libraries, historical societies and museums in Ohio and the National Digital Newspaper Program in Ohio, Ohio’s contribution to Chronicling America.  Jillian has a B.A. in Communications from The Ohio State University and an M.L.I.S. from Kent State University.  Phone: (614) 297-2578. Phil Sager is Web Designer/Developer for the Ohio Memory Project and other digital initiatives within the Ohio Historical Society. He has a B.A. in history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.L.S. from UW-Madison, and a Specialist Degree in Digital Libraries from Indiana University.  He has been involved in numerous initiatives, including an online interactive tutorial for a virtual university, project development for Ohio Memory, the National Digital Newspaper Program in Ohio, and general database development for the Ohio Historical Society.  Phone: (614) 297-2577.  Email: psager@ohiohistory.org.

Lily Birkhimer is the Assistant Curator of Digital Services in the Collections Division at the Ohio Historical Society. Her responsibilities include managing Ohio Memory, a collaborative digital library that includes collections from more than 350 cultural heritage institutions across Ohio, and handling photoduplication orders and image digitization requests. Jenni Salamon is the Project Coordinator for the National Digital Newspaper Program in Ohio at the Ohio Historical Society. Duryea Kemp is the Scanning and Microfilm Technician for Digital Services in the Collections Division at the Ohio Historical Society.  Duryea came to the society to work on our original newspaper microfilming project.  He also worked in the Audio/Visual department before joining Digital Services.  Duryea has an Associates Degree from the United Electronics Institute in Charleston, West Virginia.  Phone: (614) 297-2543.  Email: dkemp@ohiohistory.org
