The Ohio History Service Corps, in conjunction with AmeriCorps and the Ohio Historical Society, is proud to introduce the Ohio Memory Community Collection.
In commemoration of the Civil War Sesquicentennial, individuals in the community were invited to share a part of their personal civil war collection on Ohio Memory.
OHSC Tech Corps members around the state digitized these Civil War era documents and photographs for inclusion in the Community Collection. Participants were invited to submit applications between March 1 thru July 31 2011 though we hope to offer this opportunity again in the future.
This opportunity has allowed people to add to Ohio’s collective knowledge and will give access to valuable history that would otherwise remain hidden and help researchers and historians learn more about this transforming period in our nation’s past.
