Fort Meigs Founders' Day

Saturday, Feb. 2
1- 5 p.m.
Fort Meigs, Perrysburg

Experience the recreation of one of the largest most complex construction projects of the War of 1812: the building of Fort Meigs! This day marks the 200th anniversary of the start of construction and you can help celebrate it with us as we host a wintertime living history encampment, weapons demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

Join War of 1812 soldiers and civilians for a one-day winter encampment that highlights what life would have been like for the soldiers who built Fort Meigs in the middle of an Ohio winter! Outdoor activities will include period construction demonstrations, building defensive works, and weapons demonstrations. Come inside the visitor center and warm up with hot chocolate and refreshments while enjoying domestic skills demonstrations, hands-on activities, and more.
